The 2009 season for the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association
will again utilize digital recording on to CD's, replacing
the old analog cassette tape format. Judge commentary will
be distributed as MP3 computer files playable on most current
Compact Disc playback systems.
Each competing unit will receive one CD that will contain
all 3 (and 6 at Championships) judges commentary, easily distributable
through conventional computer file transfer methods. During
the competition, commentary CD's will be made available after
each grouping of four competitive units, specifically following
the 4th, 8th, 12th performance and etc. Instructors are encouraged
to bring CD playback units or laptop computers w/CD playback
(or burners and spare blank discs if you want to distribute
commentary to your entire staff , and maybe a small cassette
player, just in case) to access your unit's comments. In addition,
commentary can be provided on USB flash drives, but each requesting
unit must provide their own labeled drive prior to the start
of each show. For further clarification, contact Ward Durrett
at wdurrett@rmpa.org.
